Zip It The Keep It Shut 40-Day Challenge By: Karen Ehman I love the cover the lips with the zipper over them. We were discussing this in one of my Bible classes so I though wow I need this book it goes along with my class I’m in. Each time I am upset I try to watch my mouth as words can either kill or give life. I try not to say anything that would hurt anyone or make them feel unworthy. So I knew I had to get this book to read and do the 40 day challenge. Hurting someone you love dearly could damage your relationship severely and you may never gain their trust again. Karen talks about two type’s prayer closets and a heart closet. This sounds like a good way to have prayers into two closets. There are prayers after each chapter. Believe me I needed this book I have opened my mouth and said something that totally broke the heart of someone I loved very much. Had I zipped my lips no one would have gotten hurt and the problem would have been resolved with any one getting hurt. So this is a book I recommend highly if you have a habit of opening your mouth when you should have thought about it first. Happy zipping it. Who Will Face the Tribulations? How to prepare for the Rapture and Christ return By: Tim LaHaye First let me say I love Tim LaHaye’s books the bring a message across for God even if it is fiction there still is a solid message to be found among the pages. This book is no different the message Mr. LaHaye sends is to be taken to heart and really look at and study. Chapter two is Translated — Snatch — Rapture!!!! Love this chapter. This chapter tells us not all people will sleep (die) but go with Jesus before death. This is called “the blessed hope”. It tells of meeting Christ in the clouds—so exciting for us Christian and The Greek word harpazo, meaning “snatch up”. Listen people the Great Tribulation will be for more terrifying then anything man can imagine. The Hebrew prophets were not silent on warning the Israel of the traumatic time to come. The prophets used words such as: 1 “The day of vengeance of our God” (Isaiah 61:2) 2 “A day of wrath” (Zephaniah 1:15) The New Testament says: 1 “The day of the Lord” On page 127 there are to list side by side One Rapture/Blessed Hope with a list of the hopes. List two talks of the Glorious Appearing. What a lovely list read and ponder on this list. Keep going because there are more pages with a lot of information that you may enjoy reading. Get informed of the Rapture by one of the best authors that I have enjoyed reading his books. I recommend this book highly. The Dog Who Was There A Novel By: Ron Marasco First let me say I love the cover maybe it’s because I love dogs. It drew me to it like a magnet. As you travel the journey with Barley to Judea to Galilee you’ll see through eyes and hear through Barely ears the greatest story ever told. As Barley meets a woodcarver he finds love and peace. Then when they don’t come back home Barley goes on search for them, Barley goes to Jerusalem where he’s hoping to find his master. Barley gets to Jerusalem and there he meets Samid a man that steals but something starts to changes Samid, he is now Barely’s new master. As each Character brings a piece of the tapestry together the story will unfold through Barley. Barely is swept up in the nice mans teachings it starts to weave a picture of his struggles and of love, forgiveness, kindness. The story isn’t about Jesus but rather about the Teacher and His teachings. So as each piece of the tapestry is woven together you will see the greatest story ever told take place the way Barely see and hears it. This is a unique story. Heavenly Horse Stories Inspiration Stories from Life in the Saddle By Rebecca E. Ondov I love the cove of the horse. The horse looks so pretty standing against the sunset. As you follow Rebecca on the trails you’ll learn God is even there. The horses are His creation beautiful, strong and wise. Horses love their human owners. Rebecca is a woman and seems to have been born on a horse. She followed her passion of wanting to find a job where she could be in the saddle. Finally she did land the job of her dreams for 15 years she would guide pack trips and become a professional wilderness ranger, exciting!!!! What I love about this book is Rebecca opens each story with an inspiring scripture, verse, tells a story of her experiences on the trail and then ends with a prayer. They are funny stories; scary and great stories of learning you do better if you’d listen to God and obey. Rebecca tells of facing your fears, handling your struggles, how to receive God’s forgiveness and forgiving yourself, most of all how to follow God’s direction even though it’s not what you want. The ones I felt sorry for were the mules. I did learn something about mules while reading this beautiful book something I have never heard or knew before. May you experience God in a whole new and wonderful way on the trails in Montana. I recommend this beautiful book highly. I received this book free from Harvest House for an honest review. The Women of Easter By: Liz Curtis Higgs Encounter the Savior with Mary of Bethany, Mary of Nazareth and Mary Magdalene As Liz tells the story of Lazarus Mary and Martha’s brother a story I have read in the Bible. Liz explained this story so well and in detail so you’d understand it. Remember when Martha “burst in”, “interrupting them” when Jesus was talking? Well Liz goes Really Martha? Remember Martha was upset that she was fixing dinner and Mary took off to listen to Jesus sitting at His feet. Martha was thinking Jesus would be on her side. As you read what Liz has to say and questions she ask I wonder if you were like me NEVER thought of those questions or felt something like Liz pointed out for you to ponder on. As the story unfolds in your mind and you feel the hurts and pain as the tears fall down your cheeks in streams as they did Mary and Martha’s. You could feel the pain in Jesus heart for He loved Lazarus. Yet you know the story of Lazarus he rises Jesus knew this would be one miracle to be told by Mary of Bethany. Then the story of Mary of Nazareth as the Mother of Jesus held Jesus and loved Him from His first breath to His last. Mary of Nazareth loyalty never wavered none in the least. Mary of Nazareth loved her son Jesus will all her heart. So as you read this story with Liz and her words to have you look even deeper into this story of Jesus from His first breath until His last breath you will ponder on the words that Liz leave you with. The time that the men left Him but the women never left Jesus. Mary Magdalene is the one that Jesus delivered seven demons from. Mary Magdalene was brave and stayed by Jesus her teacher side and was the one that told of His amazing resurrection. Liz again has questions for you to ponder on and things she thought about as she did the other two Mary’s that will have you seeing things in an entirely different way. Remember one amazing thing if nothing else these three Mary’s did not leave Jesus nor did they ever deny Him as the men did!!!!!!! Doesn’t that tell you who the brave ones are? At the end of the book there is a study guide which is very helpful. I feel with Liz and her questions or statements makes you stop and look at the three Mary’s in a deep way then before. I recommend this book highly. This book is a new way to see the stories of Jesus and also the three Mary’s that were faithful to Jesus. As you read this book you will find a new depth to Jesus and His relationships with these women. I received this beautiful book free from Bloggingforbooks for an honest review. The Jesus Bible Sixty six books, one Story All About One Name By: Zondervan I per say am not a fan of the cover that is on this Bible maybe you will be. I felt the cover could have been a different texture that felt soft to a woman’s hands, not a rough texture like this is. I am curious if other women feel the same as I do, I hate rough things in my hands. On the pages Welcome To The Story of God! These pages in them self are so interesting about the Bible that I love the way it tells a story from the beginning before you go further into the Bible. These pages set the stage for Jesus. For example on one of the pages it starts with: no book on earth has been talked about, debated, revered or hated more than the one you have in your hand. I have heard that from Pastors and people in my prayer group’s years ago. And it still holds true today and will until the time of Jesus return. As you read your Bible remember you hold a treasure in your hands one that people are coming to God would like to have this book but find it hard to get and people like ISIS that kill you because you read it and believe in the one true God. The treasure you hold in your hands is the very words God spoke to different authors to write, although some don’t give a author. Living for Jesus is not an easy journey but it is an everlasting journey. When you get to the end of your rope and no one there to turn to and nowhere to run just remember God is waiting for you with love and open arms. The bible is best understood when it’s viewed as one story in six acts we see woven into the pages Jesus at every turn: Beginning Revolt People Savior Church Forever Remember every book has a hero, bad people (sin) and just interesting people to keep the story interesting for you. I feel this bible is different and will help you to understand it a little better. I recommend this bible highly. Now I can go back through this bible with my Bible group.
