DOWN HOME WIT AND WISDOM By: Steve Chapman The cover never really told me a story. As most of you that read my reviews know I love to look and just ponder on the cover before diving into the book to see what story it might be holding all its own, but this one never told me anything. Since the cover never told me a story I had to open the pages and read and let Steven tell me his own story. I must say I can only explain it this way be ready for a new style of writing. He write wit and wisdom in his way, very unique way indeed. As I read into the chapters of this beautifully different writing chapter 15 caught my eye and I read it a few times maybe do to his way of writing and words. It is on “Don’t Mistake My Compassion for Stupidity”. Every parent should read this one. Or remember how some people brag before a game or dance contest about taking a trophy home? Interesting thought to ponder on 1 King, chapter 20 and read what the Bible says and don’t forget this “NEVER brag before a battle”—- Steven Chapman tells lessons well learned by wit and wisdom — you will laugh at his what I call “Hillbilly” style of words he uses very effective, to get across ways to help you deal, see or handle differently in a common down to earth way that may even having you go “Why didn’t I think of that”? Steven uses some of his wife’s and Mother’s, and Father’s wit too, so get ready for a totally new way to deal with problems you might have already tried one way and it didn’t work try Steven Chapman’s way. See how that works for you. Steven Chapman has written “A Look at a Life from a Deer Stand”. I know he has written more books and from what I understand very good books. Unfortunately I was unable to review those books darn. I recommend this book highly. I received this book free from Harvest House for an honest review. BEYOND THE SILENCE By: Tracie Peterson & Kimberly Woodhouse I love the cover of this book very nicely done. I love the colors of this cover, the big tree, the grassy area it is just really nice. It tells me a store all its own. This story had me hooked from the first page which I like but it also kept my attention all through the book. It has twist and turns and mysteries having you look over your shoulder. The characters in this story was really life like and had you crying, laughing, you’ll look at how gossip can kill a person soul and turn people ugly and mean that usually are the nicest people in the world but it only takes a few to turn a town upside down. If you’re like me then you pick characters you like and watch their every move. I loved Lillian and the faith that drove her to stand her ground and listen to God’s directions., Then there’s Harry a young man that will surprise you and have you wanting to fight for him, a boy whom can’t talk and a man accused of murdering his wife did he do it or is there something the people aren’t seeing? The Olive Farm sounds great but there really wasn’t much on it but I was intrigued by the little they did tell of the farm and the work it took. I’d like to see another story written about the families and what they are up to now. This book is exciting and kept me on my toes. I recommend it highly. HUNTERS IN THE DARK By: Lawrence Osborne This book very hard to get into if I am not into it by chapter 4 I am done with the book. I am one that needs to be grabbed by at least the 4 chapter I think that is long enough to be bored reading so I self it or get rid of it. I did however pick it back up when I ran out of my other review books to read, but still am struggling with reading it. So my review is based on how hard it was for me to really get interested in this book for me. I love books and I can read 2-4 a week so this one just didn’t grab me like most do sorry to say. As Robert Grieve does opium with a person he barely knows and yet feels he can trust him is beyond me, but guess that is just a story. I myself never have done any drugs except what the DR gives me and I hate them so I have a hard time understanding someone that does drugs and trust people he or she doesn’t even know. The man he did drugs with and talked to about getting a boat ride he didn’t even know. His trust sends him down river and he has no clue where he is or anything about the town or the person who is navigating the boat. He wanted to come up missing I guess this was a good way to do it because if people don’t know you they can’t very well tell anyone about you, but also you can’t get help if you need it. The man that Robert talk to that was navigating the boat didn’t understand him or at least he acted like he didn’t. Robert then couldn’t find his back pack, he was now dressed in someone else clothing and didn’t know how he got into them, he did how ever have money that no one seemed have stolen so that’s a good sign. So he is now in Cambodian jungle where things start to get Hitchcock with twist and turns. He meets a Doctor’s daughter, there is money he has no idea where it came from and a lot of drugs. If you’re wanting a book that you can get into at first chapter this is not the book. I did how ever love the cover. I received this book free from Blogging for books for an honest review. The Word of Promise New Testament NKJV Audio Bible By: Thomas Nelson This Audio seems to take on life of its own as you listen to actors/actresses take on the lives of the people in the days of Jesus. What a wonderful way to hear and get to know the Bible like never before. The music is great addition. I had another audio bible but lent it out never to get it back sad. So I was so grateful when they brought this one out to review. As Jesus along with his Mother Mary, Moses, Luke, John, and God plus more people that take you through the New Testament. It’s a great way to drive and still hear the bible while I’m stuck in traffic or my miserable drive of over an hour to my DR’s here in FL. Traffic is terrible. The Audio Bible is great to listen to while you’re just sitting outside and wanting to get in the word without taking your bible but you can close your eyes and just see the people as the story is unfolding in front of you. There also is a calming effect on a person as they can relax and listen to the music the voices and know the people as if they are right there with them. I loved this Audio Bible and recommend it highly for the busy person or the ones on the go a lot or just the ones that love to relax and hear the voices to calm you. I don’t feel you will be sorry you purchased this Audio at all. So grab it listen to the bible come alive like never before right before you and enjoy your Lord like never before. Oh did I say it has a nice case for the CD to keep them safe. 5 Stars ISBN: 978-0-7180-8166-9

LOVE & CARE For The One and Only YOU By: Michelle Medlock Adams Always the cover either catches my eye or it doesn’t. I was curious as to why the food was on the cover of the cover. So that is what caught my eyes as to what food had to do with Love and Care for you. The cover told a story I had to sit and study it for a little while and it told why. Well of course if you think about it the food you eat has a lot to do with your health right? One of the things that caught my eyes where the words “why are you wasting time to fill a God size hole with a sin size pieces? We are trying to fill a God sizes hole with FOOD. Do you know what she is getting at? Well let me tell you she is saying when you are sad, lonely, hurt and just not proud of yourself or even when you are trying to have time with God? Oh yes I am guilty as charged I eat while I read my Bible or talk to God. Well Shame on me that is my time with God not food, what I can’t keep my hands off of food for an hour to spend time with God the one that loves me and gave his only son for me. Didn’t Jesus fast for 40 days to be with God, didn’t Jesus show us how it is best to please our Lord and get close to him? There are powerful prayers at the end of each chapter to help you grow. Also there are WORK YOUR WORDS and HEALTHY HINT this is so helpful and I think you will truly love the prayers along with the work your words and the healthy hint after each chapter. They truly are a great part of this book and should be a great part of our lives as well. I recommend this book highly. It wasn’t what I was expecting at all but I really loved the book and her style. I don’t think you will regret buying this book at all. A lot of great information and prayers are powerful God listens to our prayers. I know this book will be where I can grab it again and again to read the prayers and hints. I received this book free from Worthy Publishing for an honest review. I was not required to write a positive review just an honest one.
