Dina L. Sleiman
Just love the cover of this book. Look at the pretty lady on the front cover. This cover tells a story in its self. This book is the second in the series of Valiant Hearts. As I stared to read this I wish I had been able to get the first one in the series.
As the stage is set where Gwendolyn is riding her horse, her lance against her side as her opponent, a warrior mirrors Gwendolyn’s every move— who is her opponent? They are about to go face to face and see who is the best of the best. Remember women are below men and they are not suppose to be warriors, they are not suppose to ride horses or use lances, but stay in the house and do women things, they are suppose to get married young. To see what her mother faces will make you want to slap the man silly.
Gwendolyn is close to her two brothers – and feels so alone when two of her brothers leave just as her father arrives home—fear grips Gwendolyn’s heart – why is she so afraid of the one person she should adore. She doesn’t adore him and she is really afraid of him, the one person she doesn’t want to come back home.
Allen enters the picture a man of great courage; he will fight for anyone to protect them. Allen shows that God calls men or women of any statue in the line of nobility to the farmer to peasant. God is always after the hearts of a believer and follower in Him and will use them for his cause. Allen is one I really liked in this book—he cares, he follows God and he is a great believer—a heart after God a noble heart. Sometimes gallant knight’s shows children lives are worth more than a bag of gold in hand. May God hold the Glory of all!!!!!!!! He shows what a man of God is like, bravery is like and what loyalty is and a man that obeys God will do regardless.
I recommend this book highly for the person that loves knights and kingdoms. I couldn’t put it down. What a page turner. If I could give this book 10 stars I would.
I received this beautiful book free from Bethany House for an honest review. I was not required to write a positive review just an honest one. The opinions I have expressed are entirely my own and no one else’s.
