GREEN BEANS AND ICE CREAM
Bill Sims JR
I love the cover. I tried to find it so I could put the book picture on here but couldn’t sorry. Really an interesting cover I glanced at it and though WOW ice cream with mint— ha, ha then I looked at it long and hard and low and behold it was green beans in with the ice cream yep you heard me right green beans with the ice cream not mint— Yuck was my thought!!!!!! But I still loved the cover.
On page 25 this is so true they punish their outstanding workers and reward their worst ones WHY?? Well chapter 20 goes with this. Are they afraid of their bad workers or what?
I know I have worked my butt off and while I could not find my partners, then in a meeting the manager gave my partner a fanatic Card and said what a great job he did. So one day the manager said to me ” You should be wanting to please us as managers.” Me with my openness and I didn’t skipping a beat I said ” I don’t care if I please you, I do my job to please my Lord, cause if I don’t please him then I failed at the job he provided for me.” My Lord’s appreciation is the only one I care about, because you never give credit to any of your good workers.” I turned and walked out.
Mr Sims that’s at Disney where you said you gave behavior based recognition programs. Apparently they’ve forgotten what you trained them– May I suggest you come back or call and find out why they are slacking in that area? I also can tell you that the manager gives third shift people appreciation lunch and gifts while they give 1st and 2nd food and no gifts at all and has done this for years. Now is that fair plus the 3 rd shift can come to our breakfast and nothing is said to them.
I think the book is great and that the program that you give is great too IF they do it!!!!!!!!
I like the story on jacket– I felt sorry for the one guy— but I also know why Biff made the decision he made. I SAULT him!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I love your book Mr Sims, very well written and you are absolutely right about workers— A thank-you goes along way and is appreciated when we hear those two words. Good Managers, bosses foreman’s are hard to find, they are few and far between. If they would have your program and use it they may see a change in their people and their work.
This book is a must have for the bosses and leaders of a job, but they have to do it in order for it to work!
I received this beautiful book free from Smith Publicity for an honest review. I was not required to write a positive review just an honest one. The opinions I have expressed are entirely my own.
