The Strange Birth, Short Life, and Sudden Death
Julian David Stone
I loved the cover, that caught my eye first off. A unique cover to say the least. With that said.
Hang on to your seat because this book, will take you back in time either you have forgotten those days or never knew them. If you never knew of these times in TV then you’re in for a trip back in time where it took actors, writers, stage crew and others with the show to think in a split second what to do if something went hay wire. If you know of these days maybe you just didn’t realize what all they had to do to make things work together, well here’s a good book to let you see the working in action from start to finish and all the in between stuff they had to deal with to make it a hit.
So to give you a few hints on what to expect in this beautifully written book:
A) The Life and death of live TV
B) The population’s growing interest in television
C) You’ll see how the life of a TV writer lived in the early 1950’s
D) the political influence on television content at those time ( and see if they still don’t have influence today more so)
E) It was the McCarthy era it’s crippling effects of “Black List”
It was struggles in the power world of television.
How the head of the net work either liked the writer and script or he never got along with him.
This book tells what went on behind the screen that we never see. Like actors getting along, the people that put the make up on, the people that help with the costuming had to hurry and get them out of one costume into another. How it all went together to make the movie. Finding actors.
It also tells how movies are born and either last along time or dies right before your eyes. It also tells how powerful some people are.
It was very interesting to me to read about the things I really never knew, like what all these people had to go through and endure just to make a movie and keep us interested so it’s ratings would stay high enough to keep it on the air.
If you are interested in knowing things like this then this it is the book for you plus if you want to know about what happened to Justice Girl you’ll have to get the book it’s really a great book and interesting too.
I received this book free from Smith Publicity for an honest review. I was not required to write a positive review just an honest one. The opinions I have expressed are entirely my own and no one else’s.
