THE BEAUTIFUL MESS
This Book is revised and up dated so it may have a clearer picture of Jesus and the picture he tried to paint for his people about the Kingdom. So as you take a trip through the pages of this book try and visualize what Rick is writing to help you better understand what God tried to say many years ago.
Now to start our journey: We can hear for ourselves what Jesus said. We have an ancient, reliable text that God has graciously preserved over two thousand years just for us, so that we, too can hear the stories and claim the treasures and become joyful participants in a world where Christ is King.
This news of this Kingdom was in fact the primary message of Jesus–It is mentioned 31 times in Matthew, yes you heard me right 31 times. Wow we must not have understood him the first time he wrote it for us so indeed he had to tell us 30 more times.
Read the old Testament if you want to know about the Kingdom — why — well let me tell you because the New Testament seems the writers don’t appear to have any need to rehash or define Jesus teaching. But they do proclaim what Jesus says, so they do realize the Kingdom.
Rick says”Problem is we don’t understand kingdom Language, so we don’t know what in the world Jesus is talking about most of the time” — Thank goodness finally someone said what I’ve been thinking and feeling “Confused” how about you?
When Theologians tend to postpone the gospel of the Kingdom it will only be realized in Heaven.
There are 3 parts to this book:
A Discovering the Kingdom
B Re-visioning Life In The Kingdom
C Practicing The Presence of The Kingdom
He says: We see treasures hidden all around us — We begin to grasp our exciting part in bring about the beauty of our King.
I recommend this book highly. HAPPY READING.
I give this book a 5 star.
I received this beautiful book free from Multnomah for a review. I was not obligated to write a positive review just an honest one. The opinions I have expressed are my own and no one else’s.
